General

The AUTHOR window is provided to enter high-level meta-data about your aircraft. The various meta-data fields are used for multiple purposes. Many fields are used by X-Plane's aircraft browser window, allowing users to search for aircraft using multiple terms. The image below (right side) shows the results when searching for 172, allowing users to quickly select your aircraft. Other fields are used by X-Plane's ATC system, and still others may be used by plugins to query this meta-data to see if your aircraft is loaded and provide aircraft specific features. The more information you can provide the better. Hover over the various fields above and click to get more information about each.
